Roadworks choas at the junction of Crouch End Hill and Hornsey Lane

Trying to drive from Turnpike Lane to Highgate last night I came across some new roadworks at the junction of Hornsey Lane and Crouch End Hill.

More rearview mirror fun in Highgate
Traffic, even at 8 in the evening, seemed completely paralysed by the temporary lights at the three-way junction.
Has anyone tried to get through this mess in daylight hours, especially in rush hour? It must be impassable!
