The family of Malcom McLaren, former manager of the Sex Pistols and "godfather of punk" who died earlier this month, have invited all fans and well-wishers to observe the funeral procession to Highgate cemetery this Thursday afternoon.
-
That's them dancing - McLaren and some dark and lovely skippers, New York 1983. Play it loud this Thursday at noon.
From 1.15 to 2.15pm, the procession will follow a route from Camden High Street to Chalk Farm Road, Ferdinand Street, Malden Road and Southampton Road, ending at Highgate Cemetery for the ceremony. All are welcome to observe and pay their respects.
Additionally, the family has requested a "minute of mayhem" (rather than the usual minute's silence) to honour the great man at midday. "Put on your favourite records and let it RIP!" requests McLaren's son, Joseph Corré, on the website of his human rights charity Humanade.
Donations may be made to Humanade in lieu of flowers.

It is fitting that Highgate Cemetery is Malcolm McLaren's final resting place. He performed a cover version of Max Bygraves' You Need Hands in the film, The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle, and the scene was filmed in Highgate Cemetery.
