Highgate are bowled over to be in the second division next season
Highgate's first eleven have been in the third division of the league for ten years, and captain Craig Gourlay's desire to move up a division has been no secret this year. The club have been in second place for much of the season, and finally secured their promotion for next year, bowling out Bessborough for 194 and then taking 195-7.
Highgate join neighbours Hornsey, who secured their promotion early with a win over Indian Gymkhana two weekends ago. With both sides playing in Division Two next season, the friendly local rivalry is set to continue.
