Haringey's Wood Green Library is one of the busiest in the country, according to a national survey.
The library was the 13th most used with 685,424 visits for 2011/12 in the CIPFA Public Libraries Survey.
The survey also illustrates how Haringey's libraries are popular for far more than traditional book lending.
Many visitors use the library for downloading e-books, computer use, internet browsing, language learning, job searches, children's story times, or any of the other leisure or learning activities hosted in libraries.
Cllr Richard Watson, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: "Our libraries are a fantastic community resource. It's great to see that Wood Green library is so popular and that so many visitors are making use of the new services on offer. We constantly review the library service and consult users as to how we can shape services to better suit them. We now have a library application (App) - an online tool for use with mobile phones or iPods - to help with book searches at home or on the move, and you can download e-books or learn a new language in your local library. We still maintain the traditional library book lending service but have altered opening hours and activities in line with our users' suggestions."

I'd like to see year on year figures for library visits though, as without this the survey is pointless in showing whether there is a decline in users or not.
