New threat to Whittington Hospital

Two and a half years ago, thousands marched on the streets of North London to protest against the threatened closure of Whittington Hospital's A&E department. Proposals to close the department have since been taken off the table; but a new threat to the Whittington has emerged in the form of cuts to staff including 250 nurses and 24 doctors.
A public meeting with information about the proposed cuts will be held at Archway Methodist Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12 February, Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn will lead a discussion on what residents can do to oppose the cuts.
An online petiton at http://savethewhittington.org.uk/ has already gathered almost a thousand signatures; campaigners hope that the public feeling against cuts to frontline services will be as strong as it was in 2010.
