Kate Moss to add basement kitchen to Highgate home

Highgate people's favourite supermodel Kate Moss has submitted the latest in a series of applications for underground extensions in the local area, which have left local groups including the Highgate Society concerned.
Moss has submitted a planning application to Camden council for "internal alterations to include installation of steam room and kitchen at lower ground floor level." She'll also be adding a new bath on the first floor and 8 CCTV cameras "at various positions" around the house to improve security.
The Croydon-born model purchased her new mansion on The Grove, which previously belonged to poet and literary critic Samuel Taylor Coleridge, at the beginning of this year. The property is close to that owned by Jude Law, who had his own planning application for a basement extension approved by Camden Council in June.
The Highgate Society has repeatedly voiced concerns about the number of underground excavations taking place, stating that digging could cause problems for underground water systems and fragile local archaeology.
This is not the first time Moss has caused controversy with a basement - in April, the model's advert for Chilean clothing company Basement caused widespread bemusement with its surreal rabbit-seducation theme. The planning application can be read and commented on online at Camden Council's planning pages.
