A turn-out for the books? Highgate will go to the polls again for a new by-election prompted by the departure of Cllr Nicolaides
The poll will take place on Thursday 15 September 2011 between 7am and 10pm. Applications to vote by post must reach the Elections Office by 5pm on Wednesday 31 August 2011, and applications to vote by proxy by 5pm on Wednesday 7th September 2011. See this page for more information.
Mr Nicolaides polled 1661 votes in last spring's local elections, and was elected alongside Green Party representative Maya De Souza and fellow Labour councillor Valerie Leach. The results in the ward were notably close, and next month's by-election could well change the local landscape if voters swing away from Labour. Nominations for the prospective candidates are open until Thursday 18 August 2011.
