Highgate's favourite Italian revealed!

We asked you to vote for your favourite Italian restaurant in Highgate, and the results are in!

Top ranking, with almost half the voted polled, goes to Capri on Archway Road. This small family-run restaurant serves classic Italian dishes with pastas, pizzas, meat and seafood dishes all on the menu. Owner Luigi is known for his warm Italian welcome, and generous portion sizes offer good value for money. Capri also offers a takeaway service (collection only). Open for lunch 12-3pm and dinner 6-11pm daily.

In joint-second place are Al Parco (previously known as Pizza Paradiso) on Highgate West Hill near the Heath, known for its authentic Italian-style handmade pizzas, and the Highgate branch of the Strada chain on South Grove. Al Parco is open from 11am-6pm on weekdays (closed Thursdays), and 11am-6.30pm at weekends; Strada is open from 11.30am-11pm Mondays to Fridays, 9am-11pm on Saturdays and 9am-10.30pm on Sundays.

Polling the remainder of the votes is the ever-reliable Pizza Express on the High Street. For quality pizza with friends in a simple, classic setting the chain is hard to beat. The new menu includes lighter summer pizzas as well as pasta options for the dough-averse. Open daily 11am-11.30pm.
