Pay for your parking by mobile phone and drop the scramble for cash every time you want to stop and shop.
Residents in Haringey will soon be able to pay Pay and Display parking fees direct from their phones, although the cash option will remain for those who want it.
To benefit from this new service drivers must first register with PayByPhone which has been selected to provide the cashless parking service for Haringey.
Cllr Nilgun Canver, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: "Paying by phone has several advantages including providing an alert for drivers when their time is running out and their fees need topping up. This is a very convenient way of paying for parking and I hope drivers sign up for the service which they will be able to use in many London boroughs."
PayByPhone will be available in over 3,500 parking spaces across the whole borough of Haringey by November and includes a range of innovative and customer friendly payment methods, including apps for all smartphones.
More than 2 million motorists have already registered to use the PaybyPhone service in London and once registered you can use your phone to pay parking fees in Haringey as well as any of the ten other London boroughs that use the service:
- Barnet
- City of London
- Croydon
- Ealing
- Enfield
- Hackney
- Islington
- Lambeth
- Tower Hamlets
- Westminster
