Half term fun in Highgate

It's February half term this week, and if you're not planning to get away with the family (or if the recent weather has put paid to holiday plans), there's plenty of great local activities for kids of all ages taking place in Highgate and around this week. Read on for our top half term tips!

Highgate has half term fun covered
Jacksons Lane has two week-long creative courses for children and teenagers aged 11+ from Monday to Friday this week.Show in a Week: Arabian Nights is an inclusive project from Jacksons Lane and Haringey Shed in which young people of all abilities work together to devise and perform their own version of the classic Arabian Nights tales.
The theatre is also teaming up with Give into Dance for a fresh and funky course focusing on street dance, break dance and hip hop. Get into Dance promises new choreography and expert dance tutors, and is suitable for all abilities.Both courses are priced at £90 including lunch and take place from 10am – 4pm daily during half term. Younger children might enjoy Lauderdale House's Saturday morning children's show - on Saturday 18 Feb children aged 2 to 6 are invited to help Bo Peep find her sheep. Showtimes are 10am and 11.30am, and tickets are priced £4.50.
Make a splash at Archway Leisure Centre with the holiday swimming programme - learn to swim with a Junior Intensive course from Monday to Friday, or enjoy waves, slides, fanspray and bubblejets at the Fun Sessions daily from 11am to 6pm. Price £2.60 or £1 with an Isligton Swim card.
Graphic novel fans aged 10-15 years can try their hands at inking a story at a workshop led by artist James Parsons at Archway Library on Tuesday 14 February from 2.30-4.30pm. The workshop is free but limited to 30 places, so get there early!
Highgate Library has a programme of activities for younger children, including Sing and Play on Wednesdays from 11am to 12 noon, and craft activity time on Fridays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm - parents welcome! For more information, call 0208 489 8772 or head to the library on Shepherd's Hill.
