Funding for free sports activities in London

If your sports club or community boost could do with a funding boost to provide coaching activities for local people, take a look at FreeSport London's second round of small grant funding, which offers up to £1,500 to clubs and organisations in London providing free sporting activities between December 2011 and March 2012.

Help others dive into sport with a grant from FreeSport London
To apply, groups must offer sporting activities in one of the 32 London boroughs that are free of charge to participants between December and March. Activities must provide at least six hours of coaching within the period, and be inclusive of disabled people. Clubs that have received previous funding must show how they will provide new opportunities or attract new participants.
To apply, register at the website and complete the application form detailing your proposed activity and budget - up to 75% can be funded through this programme. The application deadline is 7 October, so get moving!
FreeSport is part of the Mayor's Sports Legacy Programme and aims to increase grassroots participation in sports and healthy activity in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Look out for free sporting opportunities coming to a club near you soon.
