Christmas opening times in Highgate

Christmas seems to have come in quite a rush this year, and there always seems to be something to shop for, from last-minute presents to the all-important Christmas lunch and everything in between. Here's a quick round-up of local supermarket opening hours over the festive season so that you can plan your cupboard shopping and milk runs!

Tesco on Highgate Hill is open as usual from 7am to 11pm on Friday 23 December. On Christmas Eve, the store will close at 10pm, and will remain closed on Christmas Day. Tesco opens again at 8am on Boxing Day, and will be open on Bank Holiday Tuesday as usual.

If you need your fix of Delia (or Heston), Waitrose on Holloway Road will be open until 9pm on Friday, and from 8am to 6pm on Christmas Eve. Make sure you have that special bottle of Pedro Himenez through the checkout before then! Waitrose is closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, reopening on Tuesday at 9am.

Waitrose on Ballards Lane in Finchley also closes at 6pm on Christmas Eve, reopening at 9.30am on 27 December.

Small independent retailers are often open on 25 December - check with your local newsagent or grocer next time you pop in whether they'll be open on Sunday! Most greengrocers, bakers and butchers will be shutting up shop on Christmas Eve so make sure you have all the veg and trimmings you need before close of play on Saturday.
