An artist described by her own daughter as "a boring old housewife" has taken inspiration from those words in her first public art exhibition, to be held at the Artway Gallery on Archway Road from 11 to 17 December.

Caron B's £D artworks incorporate domestic objects such as mopheads.
Caron B's young daughter Nathalie used the phrase in a school project some years ago "Those words rang in my ears," says Caron, "and it was this that inspired me to follow an unfulfilled ambition to go back to Art College."
After graduating with a first-class honours degree in Fashion Design, the former housewife continued to be inspired by her daughter's description. "Not only did her words encourage me to go back to my studies, they also gave me a source of inspiration to create a collection of contemporary art works to show that the housewife's life and daily chores needn't be boring but, in fact, totally inspiring in so many ways, she says.
A new exhibition of Caron's works, hosted by Creative Embryo, hopes to bring her unusual 3D works to a wider audience. "I have incorporated in my work everyday household items and pastimes, using them in such a way as to create exciting, beautiful innovative pieces of art," explains the artist.
The exhibition will take place on from 11 to 17 December, with the launch on Sunday 11 December from 12noon to 5pm at Artway Gallery, 273 Archway Road, N6 5AA.
